Problem:
The problem is the underrepresentation and underparticipation of women in the workforce in Bangladesh, compounded by societal norms and barriers that discourage women from pursuing education, careers, and independence. Despite advancements in women's rights and education, significant disparities remain in employment, with cultural attitudes, security concerns, and lack of support structures further hindering women's empowerment.
High Level Goal:
The high-level goal is to achieve gender equality in Bangladesh by significantly increasing women's participation in the workforce across diverse sectors, ensuring their safety and rights, and fostering a supportive culture that values women's education, employment, and entrepreneurial endeavors equally to men's.
Behaviour to change:
Increase family and societal support for women working or running businesses, challenging the stereotype that women should prioritize domestic roles over professional or entrepreneurial ambitions.
