Your Report
During this activity you identified your problem, high level goal and the specific behaviour you are trying to change. You can see these below.
Problem:
People diagnosed with severe mental illness (SMI) die up to 23 years earlier than the general population. 4 out of every 5 people living with SMI have a co-existing physical illness and nearly 80% of premature deaths are due to preventable physical health conditions. Despite advancements in medicine this gap in mortality appears to be increasing over time and is exacerbated by standard approaches to mental health treatment.
High Level Goal:
Going for Gold’s primary aim is to initiate a paradigm shift in the treatment of clients with SMI via the delivery of a uniquely positive, prosocial and empowering therapeutic intervention.
Behaviour to change:
Psychiatrists and case managers do not prescribe exercise as medicine to community MHS clients.
Below are each of the barrier cards you selected as part of this activity.
