Problem:
The problem is the underrepresentation and underparticipation of women in the workforce in Bangladesh, compounded by societal norms and barriers that discourage women from pursuing education, careers, and independence. Despite advancements in women's rights and education, significant disparities remain in employment, with cultural attitudes, security concerns, and lack of support structures further hindering women's empowerment.
High Level Goal:
The high-level goal is to achieve gender equality in Bangladesh by significantly increasing women's participation in the workforce across diverse sectors, ensuring their safety and rights, and fostering a supportive culture that values women's education, employment, and entrepreneurial endeavors equally to men's.
Behaviour to change:
Enhance the safety and security of women in the workplace, encouraging more women to remain in or re-enter the workforce without fear of harassment or violence.
