Your Report

During this activity you identified your problem, high level goal and the specific behaviour you are trying to change. You can see these below.

Problem:

Our client works in a highly regulated industry. Training--and the completion of that training--is very important. In the past, training was auto-assigned to people, and people often took too much training, some of which had very little to do with the tasks they performed. Now, our client is adding some accuracy to the process--matching the tasks that people perform to the training they need. That's good for employees generally, but bad for managers, who now have to make the judgements about what training(s) their team members need. Some managers openly say they don't know what tasks their team members perform. Many say they just don't want to change the process--they prefer not being actively involved.

High Level Goal:

Managers accept the idea that assigning training is a reasonable responsibility for them to have for their direct reports.

Behaviour to change:

Managers complete the training assignment process.
